A rare Travelling
Spice Box, London 1808 by John Reily. Length 5.5ins. Weight:
146gms. This is a very unusual item of 3 sections, each section
unscrewing to form 3 containers, interiors silver gilt. Each
with a lid; solid, pierced, pull off with cork under. Each
section and solid lid are fully Hall Marked. It is considered
that each section held spices; possibly salt, pepper, dry
mustard or snuff.
